Countryside Tours



Our all day Kent villages tour starts with a pick up in the morning from your central London accommodation. We travel through Kent and pass some beautiful villages and countryside along the way.

Below are just some suggestions for places to take in your tour. However, as there is a vast amount of history and sights in Kent, prior to departure, I will liaise with you to discuss your specific requirements for this tour.

leeds castlez
Leeds Castle was built in the 12th century as a Norman stronghold. In 1278 it became the favoured property of King Edward I. The castle was taken over by Edward II in 1321. After Edward II died in 1327, his widow took over the castle as her main residence. A beautiful building, steeped in history.
Chartwell Housewas the home of Winston Churchill for over 40 years and the beautiful garden has many features created by Lord and Lady Churchill.

Chatham Dockyard is locatedated on the River Medway this was established as a royal dockyard by Queen Elizabeth I. One of the final vessels built here was the submarine Okanagan which was built for the Royal Canadian Navy launched on 17th September 1966.

Canterbury Cathedral is the site where Thomas a Becket was murdered is set in beautiful Kent countryside. The Cathedral houses a Romanesque crypt which dates back to the 11th century/ Beautiful medieval stained glass windows illustrate stories associated with St Thomas. The Cathedral is most famously mentioned in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.We can take in other sights whilst in Canterbury including the Canterbury Roman Museum if wished.down housez
Down House is the home of Charles Darwin(1809–82), the Victorian scientist, from 1842 until he died. You can see the study where Darwin wrote ‘On the Origin of Species’, still as it was when he worked there.

Pluckley is said to be the most haunted in Britain! Half a century ago there were claims of ghostly Highwaymen, of a Watercress woman, and both a Red Lady and a White Lady have been seen in Saint Nicholas’s churchyard.
